Job Description:

The Risk Analysis and Portfolio Development Specialist will work closely with underwriters to apply analytical skills and risk assessment expertise to develop and refine the company's professional liability portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of risk profiles, market trends, and policy wordings to ensure optimal portfolio breakdown and effective price determination.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze underwriting submissions and assess risk exposures for new and renewal accounts to inform pricing and policy decisions.
  • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, and use this knowledge to improve broker relationships and inform portfolio development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with underwriting staff to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Research and present findings on notable trends and macro factors to inform portfolio decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve the company's professional liability offerings and market position.
Qualifications:
  • A strong analytical mindset and ability to apply quantitative and qualitative skills to risk assessment and portfolio development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with underwriting staff and brokers.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel to analyze and present data.
