Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our mission of saving lives through organ and tissue donation. We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist who will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of organ donor records.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee the collection and evaluation of all culture results, ensuring timely reporting to relevant transplant centers and regulatory bodies.
- Review and analyze autopsy findings for organ donors, assessing causes of death and necessary details for recipient transplant centers.
- Notify transplant centers and other relevant agencies of any significant findings from autopsy reports.
- Coordinate the acquisition of autopsy results for tissue donors and facilitate their distribution to the Quality Assurance Team.
- Gather follow-up information on recipients from appropriate transplant centers for all donor cases.
- Collaborate with Exam Works to ensure prompt reimbursement for organ and donor services provided to hospitals.
- Monitor and manage the status of required UNET Data Reporting, including Deceased Donor Records and Donor Disposition.
- Assist in the review of organ donor charts as needed.
- Provide coverage for reportable events, including culture results and autopsy findings, as required.
- Identify and report confirmed reportable diseases to the appropriate state agencies.
- Organize and lead monthly Quality Department meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
- Maintain records for offsite storage and manage communication with off-site storage personnel.
- Identify trends and opportunities for process enhancements related to donor records and organizational statistics.
- Foster open communication with various departments within DCIDS to ensure effective collaboration.
- Exemplify the core values of DCIDS by demonstrating commitment, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in a related healthcare field is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in medical records or a related healthcare position.
- Proficient in computer usage and basic data entry skills.
