Position Overview: Technical Product Manager

As the inaugural Technical Product Manager at DragonFly Athletics, you will oversee and prioritize product-related challenges, facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, and utilize data to drive informed decisions. Your role will be pivotal in guiding the creation and implementation of innovative solutions by connecting technical and business teams, ensuring our offerings meet the highest standards of quality and market expectations.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Demonstrated Experience: A minimum of 3 years in Product Management within a start-up or SaaS context.
  • Proactive Self-Starter: You have the capability to make independent choices and take initiative while aligning with organizational objectives. As our first Product Management hire, your expertise will be vital in shaping our product strategy.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with the Agile software development methodology and strong data analysis skills to effectively leverage data for decision-making.
  • User-Centric Approach: A deep understanding of end-user needs, with the ability to translate user stories into actionable technical requirements for stakeholders.
  • Strong Sense of Ownership: You thrive in environments where you are accountable for results and have a proven history of inspiring others towards a broader vision by articulating the underlying purpose.
  • Educational Background: Ideally, a 4-year degree in computer science, statistics, or engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Technical Tools: Experience with issue tracking systems, Google Workspace, and Slack.
  • Location Flexibility: Open to remote candidates, with a preference for those within a reasonable commuting distance to our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer-Engineering Liaison: Act as the bridge between customer requirements and the engineering team, translating customer needs into actionable technical specifications.
  • Product Oversight: Manage and prioritize product-related tasks to reduce rework and confusion, becoming a Subject Matter Expert on our offerings.
  • Effective Communication: Develop project details and convey them clearly to the engineering team, translating technical concepts into accessible language for business teams and end users.
  • Comprehensive Product Vision: Maintain a holistic view of the product, ensuring that all decisions align with the overarching product vision.
  • Empathy and Team Collaboration: Demonstrate understanding for both customer and engineering perspectives, fostering a collaborative atmosphere to enhance product development and customer satisfaction.
