Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) solutions for our aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement E3 design guidelines, models, and analyses using EMI principles.
  • Design and develop E3 test procedures and participate in E3 testing in accordance with governmental and non-governmental standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure E3 requirements are met throughout the design process.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to less experienced engineers on E3 engineering practices and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of processes, procedures, documentation, and protocols for E3 engineering at Northrop Grumman.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience in engineering; OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience in engineering; OR PhD in a STEM discipline.
  • Must have a DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret clearance prior to starting.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-464 or MIL-STD-461.
  • 2 years of experience in RF, Test, or design engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, or analog circuitry.
  • Experience with defense and aerospace industry practices, and programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, Risk assessments for E3 compliance.
  • Ideal candidates can show extensive design experience with EMI filters, circuit layout and analysis for E3, shielding, lightning protection, cable and harnessing design.
  • Candidates with working knowledge and experience in modeling and simulation of E3 using commercially available software is a plus.
What We Offer

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $92,600 - $139,000, with the potential for a discretionary bonus.
