Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This individual will be responsible for designing and developing Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) systems and ensuring compliance with government and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement E3 design guidelines and procedures
  • Conduct EMI and EMC analyses and testing
  • Design and develop E3 test procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure E3 compliance
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to less experienced engineers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of experience in engineering
  • Master's degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of experience in engineering
  • PhD in a STEM field with 4+ years of experience in engineering
  • DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an interim Top Secret clearance
  • Experience with MIL-STD-464 and MIL-STD-461
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, or analog circuitry
  • Experience with defense and aerospace industry practices and programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, and Risk assessments for E3 compliance
  • Extensive design experience with EMI filters, circuit layout, and analysis for E3, shielding, lightning protection, cable and harnessing design
  • Working knowledge and experience in modeling and simulation of E3 using commercially available software
Salary Range:

$92,600 - $139,000

Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
