The Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) is tasked with formulating the strategy for donor engagement and relationship management.

Overview :
The CAO spearheads the advancement initiatives of Ada Bible Church, focusing on the cultivation and development of donor relationships.

The CAO provides executive leadership in the domains of donor engagement, fundraising, and communications that enhance the visibility of the ministry, fostering greater involvement.

This role collaborates closely with the Senior Leadership, Board, and other key stakeholders to drive development efforts that position Ada Bible Church for sustained growth across all areas.



Responsibilities:


Vision, Strategy and Leadership:


Offer executive guidance, innovation, and insights in cross-functional leadership, organizational planning, and goal setting, as well as establishing future directions and ministry priorities.

Design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy and process.
Provide executive oversight for all marketing initiatives and channels to elevate ministry visibility, resulting in increased engagement and contributions.
Proactively recommend partnerships, conferences, advertising, and media opportunities where Ada Bible Church should establish a presence.

The incumbent is responsible for building and maintaining professional relationships with a diverse range of individuals who can aid in advancing the ministry.

Oversee the development and management of fundraising budgets, including income projections and concrete plans for successful execution during the annual budget development phase.
Lead and develop departmental staff to ensure optimal performance.

Possess executive-level knowledge of advanced strategies, including planned giving, donor-advised funds, and corporate giving strategies such as the donation of appreciated assets, etc.


Cultivation and Solicitation:


In partnership with the Senior Leadership, secure the annual operating budget through direct response marketing (direct mail, email, web, radio, telemarketing, social media) and the active management of a donor portfolio consisting of high mid-level and major donors.

Manage a donor portfolio of up to 50 individuals.
Develop comprehensive strategies for fostering and maintaining relationships with top donors.

The incumbent will actively pursue new donors and nurture relationships through phone conversations, in-person meetings, and appropriate electronic and mail communications.

Co-manage a donor portfolio of up to 50 donors with the Senior Leadership. Create tailored plans for each donor based on their passions and interests.

Execute those plans, including regular and timely updates to the donors.
Oversee the implementation of the full development funnel plan, encompassing annual giving, major gifts, prospecting, etc.
Develop an annual strategy for major donors, mid-level donors, and direct response donors.
Establish the annual theme for contributions and integrate it with other communication materials for donor offers.
Lead the strategic development of the planned giving segment.
Create strategic goals and plans to incorporate into donor and ministry materials.
Develop a long-term strategy for direct impact that preserves and grows current donors while also engaging new ones.
Maintain a robust database of current and past donors for both current and planned giving operations.

In collaboration with leadership, develop strategic events that promote the objectives of current funding, future funding, or the active recruitment of donor relationships.

Formulate a long-term strategy for church engagement that preserves and grows current church donors while also attracting new churches.

Responsible for cultivating the ministry's portfolio of mid-major donors and identifying top donors for Senior Leadership's engagement as Major Donors.
Develop and oversee the implementation of a general donor program, including all direct response marketing content and channels.
Compile donor mailing lists and target lists

Plan and execute ministry events, including major donor gatherings, leading the team to create tailored messaging and marketing strategies to support them.

Promote the mission through speaking engagements and community involvement events.

Collaborate closely with the board chair of the advancement committee to develop and implement an annual board-sponsored fundraising initiative.

5 years of executive management experience, including strategic planning, motivational leadership, team building, and financial oversight.
5 years of demonstrated success in fundraising, integrating marketing and communications.

5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining donor CRM systems, including contact management and tracking of tasks and communications.

Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows/Office 365 environment.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is advantageous.
Demonstrated strong performance in and aptitude for marketing/communications, including brand development, creative campaign execution, and both digital and traditional channels.
