Job Overview

The Christian Reformed Church in North America seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Administrative Officer to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the agency's day-to-day functions, including finances, operations, and media ministries. This role will work closely with the Director of Reframe Ministries and staff to translate the ministry's vision into actionable plans and achieve its goals through effective media ministry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent agency finances in the denominational structure and governance structure.
  • Ensure policies and procedures align with the denomination's overall policies and procedures, collaborating with denominational support services departments to ensure staff compliance and improve agency systems.
  • Oversee internal accounting processes and procedures, external financial reporting, and registrations.
  • Manage the maintenance, upkeep, and security of the organization's assets.
  • Review financial reports and provide financial input to international ministry offices.
  • Lead the annual budget process with senior leadership and develop a capital budget for the agency.
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets as needed, aligning with the strategic plan.
  • Manage agency partnerships with other ministries and vendors nationally and internationally.
  • Ensure appropriate systems are in place for financial planning, monitoring, and control of agency finances.
  • Assist the Director in managing and developing ministries and projects, making operational decisions, and developing annual and long-term strategic plans.
  • Manage the assessment cycle of departments and ministries by evaluating their effectiveness, assessing efficiency, and applying improvements.
  • Manage the onsite studio, working with the Multimedia Producer to maintain the studio and develop plans for equipment replacements and upgrades.
  • Ensure policies and procedures align with the denomination's overall policies and procedures, working with Support Services departments to ensure staff compliance and improve agency systems.
  • Support the advancement team by providing financial and general input in connecting advancement with the overall ministry.
  • Evaluate overall agency performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Review and sign vendor contracts on behalf of the agency.
  • Administer estate and trust distributions from initial contact with executors, trustees, and law firms to final distributions.
  • Work closely with the Director to promote and maintain strong, collaborative relationships between Reframe and CRCNA ministries and institutions.
  • Direct the agency in the Director's absence.
Requirements
  • Able to support the mission, vision, and values of the CRCNA.
  • Financial accounting and systems management skills for bi-national reporting entities.
  • Practical general business management and operations knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively manage internal controls in a multi-faceted service environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Skilled at managing and prioritizing multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and anti-racism work in a cross-cultural space.
  • Proficiency in accounting and database software.
  • Ability to travel within North America and internationally.
  • Familiarity with the work and ministries of the Christian Reformed Church through its agencies and institutions is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Masters Degree or equivalent licensure (CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • Significant experience at a senior financial management level is required.
Work Environment

Travel within the United States and Canada and international locations required on occasion.
