Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be part of a team responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment supporting wind tunnel operations. Adherence to safety protocols and procedures is paramount, and all tasks must be executed according to established guidelines while upholding high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Familiarity with industry-standard safety practices, including Foreign Object Damage (FOD) control and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, is advantageous. Experience in the operation and maintenance of rotating machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, valves, and cooling water systems is preferred. Additional equipment experience may include industrial forklifts, man-lifts, and cranes. Responsibilities will also encompass preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment operation as per documented protocols. The ability to interpret relevant technical drawings and specifications is essential. Relevant military or aviation maintenance training is a plus.

Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance as necessary. A minimum of two (2) years of college coursework in engineering, mathematics, or science, combined with four (4) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six (6) years is required.

Work Environment:

Office Environment (20%). Test/Industrial Environment - May involve exposure to high noise levels, high energy sources, hazardous materials, and industrial facilities (75%). Travel between facilities and during testing operations may be necessary, which could involve exposure to loud noises and potentially hazardous equipment and chemical operations (5%).

Physical Requirements:

Must possess sufficient mobility to access confined spaces and maneuver around various assemblies while maintaining safety awareness. Potential exposure to high noise levels and hazardous materials is expected. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and training will be provided for all conditions. Candidates must be capable of walking, standing, bending, twisting, and sitting for extended periods, as well as climbing, crawling, and lifting up to 35 lbs (75%).

Equipment and Machines:

Facility operations display/keyboards/mechanical/electrical control/HMI, standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.) (30%). Operate relevant equipment; devices, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products, including industrial machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments. Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to assess design proposals for enhancing equipment performance or other factors, or to gather data for development, standardization, and quality control.

Attendance:

Regular attendance is mandatory (100%). Overtime or work outside of the normal schedule may be required (10%).

Additional Essential Functions:

U.S. Citizenship is required. A valid driver's license is necessary. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential. Grooming and attire must be suitable for the position and should not pose safety risks to oneself or others. The work environment necessitates the ability to cooperate and collaborate with individuals at all levels within the organization and with clients. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Employees are expected to exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. The SPA is a company-provided tool designed to prevent incidents, accidents, and injuries; it is the most critical tool that must be utilized.
