About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team at NASA LaRC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance activities at our facility.

Responsibilities
  • Identify repeated causes of failure in support of root cause failure analysis and equipment lifecycle assessments.
  • Perform mechanical equipment/system field verification and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain rotating machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, valves, and cooling water systems.
  • Perform field verification of equipment information and failure reporting.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to existing policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required.
  • Two (2) years of college with courses in engineering, mathematics, or science, and four (4) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education/experience for a total of six (6) years.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic team environment, with a mix of office and industrial settings. The role will require regular attendance, with partial telework options available. Overtime and work outside normal schedule may be required.
