We are collaborating with an innovative Series A startup specializing in microgrid solutions, focusing on smart grid technologies and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. As the company expands, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee the design and execution of their microgrid initiatives, which encompass Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), EV charging, and solar energy solutions.

This role will involve creating comprehensive project and product designs, as well as taking charge of technical commissioning, which includes testing and liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to enhance existing products.

*Candidates must be available for a minimum of 2 days per week on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of electrical design packages for BESS, photovoltaic systems, and EV charging, including utility interconnection and site layout drawings.
  • Lead and manage both in-house and external design, prototyping, and testing activities for electrical products.
  • Evaluate design documents, providing insights on design concepts, compliance with codes, contract adherence, feasibility, and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct site assessments to identify constraints and interconnection needs.
  • Manage the commissioning and decommissioning of systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering within the BESS or microgrid sector.
  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical design.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in system commissioning and testing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design and modeling software.
  • Strong background in managing multiple projects within the BESS or microgrid domains.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
