This role presents an exceptional opportunity to engage in a dynamic academic setting within a highly regarded children's hospital. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology is looking for a Pediatric Cardiologist with specialized knowledge in heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, pre- and post-transplant care, and management of ventricular assist device (VAD) patients, along with expertise in cardiac transplantation and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

The Heart Failure Program consists of a collaborative team of faculty, advanced practice providers, and pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons. The Pediatric Cardiologist will focus on delivering specialized care to both inpatients and outpatients suffering from cardiomyopathy, heart failure due to congenital heart defects, and those requiring pre- and post-heart transplantation services. Team members will also share responsibilities for general cardiology night and weekend coverage, participate in outpatient clinics, and engage in clinical services at Primary Children's Hospital and outreach locations. In addition to clinical duties, there is a strong emphasis on academic contributions, including education, research, and administrative responsibilities, with dedicated time allocated for these activities and a robust support system in place.

Since its inception in 1991, the heart failure and transplant program has experienced significant growth, performing numerous transplants and VAD procedures annually, surpassing national survival benchmarks. The program also features an integrated Fontan/heart failure initiative.

Qualifications: Candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology, with specialized training in heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and transplantation. A fourth year of additional training in pediatric heart failure is mandatory. The successful candidate will be appointed as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics, with the academic rank determined by experience and qualifications.
