This role presents an exceptional opportunity to become part of a dynamic academic community within a highly regarded children's hospital. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine is in search of a Pediatric Cardiologist with specialized knowledge in heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, pre- and post-transplant care, and ventricular assist device (VAD) management, as well as cardiac transplantation and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

The Heart Failure Program consists of a collaborative team including 4 faculty members, 4 advanced practice providers, and 4 pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons. The Pediatric Cardiologist will focus on providing care to both inpatients and outpatients suffering from cardiomyopathy, heart failure related to either cardiomyopathy or congenital heart defects, and patients undergoing heart transplantation. Team members are expected to share responsibilities for general cardiology night and weekend coverage. Participation in general cardiology outpatient clinics and inpatient services, alongside specialized duties, is anticipated. Clinical responsibilities may also extend to outreach clinic settings. Clinical activities will be conducted at Primary Children's Hospital and affiliated outreach locations. In addition to clinical duties, there is a strong emphasis on academic contributions, including education, research, and administrative responsibilities, with dedicated time allocated for these endeavors supported by a robust mentoring framework.

Since its inception in 1991, the heart failure and transplant program has experienced significant growth, performing numerous transplants and VADs annually, consistently surpassing national survival benchmarks. The program also features an integrated Fontan/heart failure initiative.

Qualifications: Candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology, with specialized training and expertise in heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and transplantation. A fourth year of additional training in pediatric heart failure is required. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, either on the Clinical or Tenure Track, at an academic level commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
