Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the QA team and ensuring the quality and reliability of systems and services. This role involves developing and maintaining QA lifecycle management strategy and operational plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the adoption of test automation and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains QA lifecycle management strategy and operational plans
  • Oversees the Software Quality Assurance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define quality objectives and deliverables
  • Drives the adoption of test automation and DevOps practices to streamline the software development life cycle and improve quality
  • Oversees the execution of manual and automated testing efforts, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
  • Performs product analysis to understand the requirements from the perspective of completion, testability, and ease of understanding
  • Performs test results analysis post-execution of testing and provides feedback on areas of improvement in test coverage
  • Performs defect trends analysis during and post-release and provides detailed reports on risks and lessons learned
  • Provides or oversees estimate creation for new projects based on QA lifecycle
  • Reviews Test Strategies for all projects in the portfolio based on organization standards and best practices
  • Identifies, documents, and tracks software defects and works closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution
  • Designs and implements test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, data quality, performance, and security
  • Works with vendor resources from various vendors and ensures adequate onboarding and mentoring
Additional Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all testing deliverables from the QA team to any project or initiative
  • Participates in the career development of staff, acting as a positive role model and mentor
  • Provides insight on process and product quality assurance compliance
  • Establishes key quality metrics and KPIs to measure software quality and team performance
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software testing and quality assurance
  • Owns processes and best practices on the following topics: test strategy, test planning & test management, quality management and continuous improvement, product integration and coordination improvements, voice of customer
