Job SummaryThe Quality Control Technician is a key team member responsible for ensuring the quality of our hot mix asphalt, liquid asphalt, cold mix asphalt, crushed stone, sand, and gravel meet State, Federal, and local specifications.
This is a bonus-eligible position that requires on-the-job training for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Protect the safety of family and friends by following all Company Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as OSHA regulations and guidelines.
- Mastery of quality control testing and procedures to produce high-quality materials in a cost-effective manner.
- Transparency and learning through familiarity with production equipment and facilities, diagnosing and correcting production deficiencies.
- Respect and engagement through timely communication with plant management on test results and quality issues.
- Ownership and caring through maintaining accurate records of quality control testing and ensuring a clean, safe working environment.
- Dedication to supporting Peckham's sales force, customers, and plant management.
- The ideal candidate should hold or be willing to obtain a QCT Certification from a NETTCP accredited program.
- Quality control experience in the Asphalt and Concrete Industries is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in manual labor environments.
- Comfortable using mechanical tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Reliable transportation.
- Proficient literacy in English and computational math, with clear verbal and written communication.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Word, Excel, and email.
- Ability to work irregular hours based on customer needs.
- Legal right to work in the U.S.

Travel and Work EnvironmentExtensive travel throughout the serviced region to various plant and work locations by personal vehicle.
Medium work environment, exerting up to 50lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs of force constantly to move objects.
Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods, lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
