Key Responsibilities
  • The Bridge Project Manager will lead the pursuit and execution of transportation-related initiatives, including preliminary engineering, specifications, and project estimations.
  • This role involves providing technical oversight, developing staff capabilities, managing contracts, and ensuring project performance while maintaining client relationships.
  • Engagement with regional teams on significant projects will be a key aspect of this position.
  • Project Managers are expected to share their technical expertise, mentor engineers, and supervise tasks such as preparing studies, reports, and construction documentation.
  • Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience in various bridge projects, including new constructions, retrofits, and flood control structures.
  • Prepare competitive technical and cost proposals to secure project opportunities.
  • Participate in relevant professional society meetings to foster relationships with clients and potential team members.
  • Review project proposals to assess scope, timelines, funding constraints, and staffing needs.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff on specific technical tasks.
  • Manage staff assignments effectively through scheduling and monitoring.
  • Ensure quality control and assurance for both simple and complex bridge projects.
  • Conduct necessary technical analyses and calculations as required.
  • Some travel may be necessary for project oversight.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, engineering management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in bridge and transportation engineering, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Familiarity with state engineering standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency in bridge analysis and design software.
  • Experience with MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
