Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at UPMC. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive diagnostic and evaluative reports with recommendations for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology services.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, as well as health care provider prerequisites.
  • Provide diagnostic and treatment services for clients referred for Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Attend and participate actively in staff meetings, development, committees, and in-service education.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, including the Corporate Compliance Program and HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate professional records for all patients.
  • Deliver excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards the public and colleagues.
  • Compile and report data for the financial, statistical, and administrative needs of the programs.
  • Coordinate the evaluation, scheduling, and treatment programs for clients.
  • Achieve and maintain productivity standards and pursue professional growth aligned with the organization's mission.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology with specific course work and clinical practice in all previously mentioned areas within the scope of practice is required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Speech Pathologist, Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), Act 34, OAPSA.
