Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team on a casual basis. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic and Evaluative Reports: Prepare comprehensive reports with recommendations for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology services.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Maintain compliance with all competency requirements for regulatory and accrediting agencies, and health care provider prerequisites.
  • Patient Care: Provide diagnostic and treatment services for clients referred for Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and participate actively in staff meetings, development, committees, and in-service education.
  • Confidentiality and Record-Keeping: Maintain confidentiality and accurate professional records for all patients.
  • Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards the public and colleagues.
  • Data Compilation and Reporting: Compile and report data for the financial, statistical, and administrative needs of the programs.
  • Program Coordination: Coordinate the evaluation, scheduling, and treatment programs for clients.
  • Productivity and Professional Growth: Achieve and maintain productivity standards and pursue professional growth aligned with the organization's mission.
Requirements
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology with specific course work and clinical practice in all previously mentioned areas within the scope of practice is required.
  • Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Certifications and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Speech Pathologist, Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), Act 34, OAPSA.
