The New York Institute of Technology is seeking a dedicated Cleaner for the night shift, specifically from 5 PM to 1 AM, Monday through Friday. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities.



Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting various building areas, including managing waste and recycling.
  • Performing manual tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Utilizing both manual and mechanical methods for scrubbing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and shampooing surfaces.
  • Ensuring light fixtures are cleaned and maintained.
  • Foaming and sanitizing showers and restrooms.
  • Properly selecting and mixing cleaning agents as required.
  • Using equipment like auto scrubbers, buffers, and vacuum cleaners to sanitize surfaces effectively.
  • Restocking bathroom supplies as necessary.
  • Following directions from administrative and supervisory staff in a professional manner.
  • Optionally conducting facility condition assessments to communicate maintenance needs.


Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Prior experience in the professional cleaning industry.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to adhere to institutional policies regarding attendance and uniform usage.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and climb a six-foot ladder, as well as work in confined spaces.

Compensation

The annual base salary for this position is set at USD $19.50 per hour.
