The Ocular District Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving sales growth and strategy for Bausch & Lomb's Pharmaceutical brands in the ophthalmic industry. This position oversees a team of Territory Managers and is accountable for achieving district sales goals and key performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Leadership: Direct management, supervision, coaching, training, and development of Territory Managers to achieve sales goals and key performance metrics.
- Business Development: Foster a winning culture, face-to-face field time with direct reports and customers to mentor, develop, and drive sales results.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, implement educational budgets, samples, and other initiatives to support sales growth.
- Business Planning: Analyze, assess, and develop district business plans, including customer identification, prioritization, competitive analysis, success requirements, implementation plans, current and future trends.
- Performance Monitoring: Track lead/lag measures to set strategy with Territory Managers, provide feedback to the organization on field needs, and competitive market threats/opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with peers, home office, and field employees to drive sales growth and strategy.
- Professional Development: Continuously improve knowledge of Bausch & Lomb products, competitive products, and management skills through ongoing home study and participation in company-sponsored/approved training programs.
- Compliance: Review and audit Territory Manager expense reports, oversee district implementation, and monitor adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of sales and/or management experience in the healthcare market, with a proven track record of success.
- Skills: Computer (Microsoft), written/verbal communication, analytical skills, driving, and valid driver's license to travel to customer locations.
- Travel: Ability to travel (overnight) up to 75% with occasional weekend conference attendance.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior sales management expertise of 2-3 years in healthcare, experience in the ophthalmic industry, and MBA or advanced degree.
