Position Overview:
As a Chiller Apprentice, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the performance of mechanical HVAC systems. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will engage in preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and troubleshooting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine service and inspections on HVAC mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Perform tasks such as changing and servicing filters, oiling and greasing components, adjusting or replacing belts, and cleaning cooling towers and coils.
- Assist in the maintenance of solar energy equipment and indoor air quality systems, including duct systems and drain pans.

Customer Engagement:
Your role involves direct interaction with customers, where you will strive to achieve high levels of satisfaction. As a trusted advisor, you will provide effective solutions to enhance building efficiency and address service-related issues.

Mentorship and Collaboration:
In addition to your technical duties, you will have the opportunity to mentor peers in mechanical HVAC installation and service activities, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:
- Completion of a Vocational School four-year program or an Associate degree in mechanical systems, air conditioning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in the HVAC industry or servicing mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC systems and facilities management practices.

Skills Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leadership capabilities to support mechanics working on non-complex HVAC equipment.

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $24.43, as determined by the collective bargaining agreement.

Benefits:
Benefits are provided through a local labor union in alignment with a collective bargaining agreement.
