Position Overview

General Summary

J&J Worldwide Services is seeking a qualified NICET II Fire Sprinkler Systems Inspector to deliver comprehensive inspection, testing, and maintenance services for fire sprinkler systems. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in evaluating, testing, and servicing fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute thorough inspections of fire sprinkler systems in alignment with NFPA standards and relevant local regulations.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports that outline findings and suggest necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Stay informed about advancements in fire sprinkler technology and products, sharing insights with clients.
  • Educate clients on the significance of regular maintenance for fire sprinkler systems and provide practical advice for optimal system performance.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all inspections performed, including photographic documentation when relevant.
  • Follow up with clients post-inspection to confirm timely completion of recommended actions.
  • Organize and coordinate annual maintenance contracts for fire sprinkler systems with service providers.
  • Address client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Keep current with NFPA standards and local code updates that may affect fire sprinkler systems.
  • Participate in ongoing education related to fire sprinkler systems regularly.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for clients, architects, engineers, and other professionals regarding fire sprinkler systems.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NFPA 13 certification.
  • NICET II certification in Fire Sprinkler Systems Layout.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable local, state, and national codes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical schematics.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and time management skills.

Work Environment

  • Fire sprinkler inspectors operate in diverse environments, including commercial and industrial facilities.
  • This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with potential for occasional overtime. Inspectors may be on call and could work evenings and weekends.
  • Travel to various job sites may be necessary.
  • Inspectors may encounter hazardous conditions and exposure to fumes, dust, and noise.
  • There may be exposure to certain chemicals and materials, though not to an extreme degree.
