Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Powertrain Integration team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the physical integration of Powertrain Subsystems to Aircraft throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the strategy and packaging of the Powertrain System to meet structural and safety requirements, while optimizing for mass, cost, efficiency, manufacturability, and serviceability
  • Apply excellent communication and negotiation skills to facilitate discussions between hardware engineering teams with competing interests to invent innovative solutions for resolving tight packaging challenges
  • Use attention to detail in GD&T analyses and installation drawings to effectively convey assembly intent
  • Promote the use of CAD methods and standard processes within the Powertrain department
  • Be responsible for the definition and completion of any/all necessary hardware integration verification activities, including (but not limited to) CAE, physical mockups, and hardware testing
  • Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
  • Up to 25% of domestic and international travel
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in mechanical design (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Experience in packaging of complex systems in aerospace and/or automotive applications
  • Experience in packaging and mass savings applications
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical engineering fundamentals across a broad range of topics, including statics, materials, and thermals/fluid dynamics
  • Demonstrated strong capabilities in 3DX/CATIA for the development of mechanical designs and prototypes
  • Knowledge of standards DO160G, DO-311A
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace design/release of complex mechanical subsystems in an Aerospace application preferred
  • Understanding of High Voltage systems and electrical engineering fundamentals preferred
  • Able to thrive and remain productive in a fast-paced startup environment preferred
What We Offer

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is: $180,100—$218,300 USD
