Job Summary:

The Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the patient admission process, working closely with physicians, case managers, and other hospital staff to ensure timely and efficient admissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient referrals and admissions, ensuring all required documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with physicians and case managers to facilitate smooth admissions processes.
  • Act as a liaison between the Skilled Nursing Unit and other hospital departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to clinical staff, answering calls and communicating with patients, families, and hospital staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with LPN/LVN license from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Preferred: One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting.
  • Letter(s) of recommendation preferred for applicants with less than one year of applicable experience in nursing.
  • ACLS, PALS, or NRP certification (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
  • Handle with Care certification (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
