Position Overview

The University of Georgia is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Food Service Worker I (Overnight) within the Auxiliary Snelling department. This position involves a variety of essential food service responsibilities in a dynamic dining environment.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Food Preparation and Service: Assist in the preparation, serving, and presentation of meals, ensuring that all food is handled safely and presented attractively.
  2. Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area and kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors.
  3. Equipment Care: Operate and care for food service equipment, including meat slicers and steam cookers, ensuring they are used safely and effectively.
  4. Customer Interaction: Provide courteous service to patrons, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
  5. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to fulfill daily operational needs.

Work Schedule

This position requires working the midnight shift during operational hours when the dining commons is open 24 hours. Flexibility in hours may be necessary during periods of varying service availability.


Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should possess knowledge of safe food handling practices and the ability to perform manual tasks efficiently.


Physical Requirements

Applicants must be able to lift loads up to 50 lbs and perform various physical activities, including standing for extended periods, reaching, climbing, and working in diverse environmental conditions.
