About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at the City of Tucson Arizona. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for cybersecurity.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in information security administration, including policy management, technology implementation, and staff guidance. A bachelor's degree in Computer Info Systems (CIS), Cybersecurity, IT, or Management Info Systems (MIS) is required, while a master's degree is preferred. Experience with Splunk, Cisco, Microsoft, and cloud certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert is beneficial.

This role involves guiding daily operations, managing projects, and mentoring junior staff within a small team. The successful candidate will work closely with the cybersecurity team to develop and refine comprehensive cybersecurity frameworks, focusing on robust and scalable solutions enhancing the security posture of the city.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage and monitor security systems, including SCADA, ICS, OT, and IoT.
  • Conduct cybersecurity investigations, including evidence gathering, log analysis, and threat hunting.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff in cybersecurity best practices.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to develop and refine cybersecurity processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in CIS, Cybersecurity, IT, or MIS.
  • Master's Degree in CIS, Cybersecurity, IT, or MIS preferred.
  • Experience in information security administration, including policy management and technology implementation.
  • Experience with Splunk, Cisco, Microsoft, and cloud certifications.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
