Job Title: Mechanic, Sheet Metal 3

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic, Sheet Metal 3 to join our team at AAR. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal parts, equipment, and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or use templates.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
  • Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications.
  • Qualifications:
    • Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.
    • Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
    • Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.
    • Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.
    • Clean, disassemble and identify components, with normal supervision.
    • Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals and planning documents with normal supervision.
    • Apply different type's conversion coatings and sealants using different types of tools and methods with normal supervision.
    • Work in conjunction with higher grade Mechanics to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision.
    • Cleans work area, when required with minimal supervision.
    • Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.
    • Able to accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision.
    • Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations.

Requirements:

Two or more years experience. Able to understand manuals.
