Position Overview:
The role involves planning, laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal components and products. You will interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to establish the sequence and methods for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal items. This includes marking dimensions and reference lines on materials to create patterns or using templates. You will set up and operate various fabrication machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to manipulate materials accurately. Additionally, you will inspect assemblies and installations to ensure they meet specifications and may be responsible for monitoring quality in line with statistical process controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order, prepare, and inspect titanium hot form dies and tools for production.
- Receive, clean, inspect, and treat titanium parts for hot forming processes.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate machinery, including Hot Form/SPF Presses and Brake Presses, to manufacture titanium components to precise specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and sketches to determine the sequence and methods for forming titanium products.
- Plan, lay out, form, and repair titanium components and products.
- Manage the operation of production machines according to established guidelines for manufacturing titanium sheet metal products.
- Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work in extreme temperatures and handle hot components safely.
- Monitor and verify the quality of parts using various inspection tools while they are still hot.
- Adhere to work schedules, follow supervisor instructions, and maintain positive interactions with colleagues.
- Be flexible with shift assignments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Experience with hand and air tools is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant applications.
