Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician IV to join our team at Rivian. As a key member of our service organization, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences at our service locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for adventure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pre-production vehicle builds, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Travel to locations as required to support service needs, including production plants.
  • Operate remotely until local service centers open, if applicable.
  • Follow Rivian repair procedures with efficiency and quality, performing complex diagnoses, repairs, and inspections on vehicles.
  • Conduct road tests to ensure quality of repairs and perform necessary parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Stay up-to-date with technical skills and required training, supporting campaigns and containment initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate expense reporting and high-quality work, working with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school preferred.
  • Leadership, mentorship, and influencing a team experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of automotive experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working on vehicle high-voltage systems and HV diagnostic work preferred.
  • Proficient in navigating laptops or computers in a Windows or Mac environment.
  • Experience using test tools, such as PICO-Scope, PCAN, KavaserMemorator, and breakout box.
  • Extensive experience in bumper-to-bumper diagnosis and repair.
  • Ability to drive non-commercial trucks and trailers preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, or as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • No driving-related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period.
  • Parts department and billing experience preferred.
  • Experience using work order management systems, including repair documentation.
  • Experience working in start-up environments preferred.
  • Positive attitude when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, along with attention to detail.
  • Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks.
  • Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners.
  • Ability to read and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to see, read, and interpret documents, such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or schematics.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Availability for a regular schedule of a minimum 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, according to business need.
  • Ability to properly document repairs completed and in process.
