About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Microsoft. As a Data Scientist: Opportunities - PhD - Redmond, you will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders, formulating approaches to solve problems, and using algorithms and data sources in the context of business and engineering needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Formulate and execute problem-solving strategies using well-defined algorithms and comprehensive data sources, ensuring alignment with project goals and business impact.
  • Analyze results, validate analytical approaches, and employ monitoring techniques to iterate and continuously improve processes and outcomes.

Requirements

Candidates must have a Doctorate (or currently pursuing) in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field, as well as experience creating publications (e.g., patents, peer-reviewed academic papers), applying ML to a type of data, and proficiency using one or more programming or scripting language (Python, Perl, or C#).
