Position Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting area supervisors and equipment operators by ensuring a clean, organized, and visually appealing facility that adheres to food-grade standards.

This position demands effective planning, sound judgment, and strong communication skills to ensure compliance with the company's sanitation program. A keen attention to detail, commitment to follow-through, and pride in workmanship are vital for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a consistently clean, attractive, and organized facility that meets food-grade standards.
  • Monitor the surroundings of the facility, including parking areas, loading docks, walkways, and grounds, for necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Request and replenish supplies and equipment required for cleaning and facility maintenance tasks.
  • Remove pallets, cardboard, and packaging materials from production areas to uphold a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Safely operate facility equipment in accordance with company policies.
  • Utilize various shop tools and power tools as necessary.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on facility equipment.
  • Clean pallet racking, floors, equipment, breakrooms, kitchens, restrooms, and offices across both facilities.
  • Conduct drywall, painting, flooring, and other facility-related repairs as needed.
  • Support supervisory staff by ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist production staff to ensure that production equipment and work areas comply with sanitation requirements for a food-grade facility.
  • Support maintenance staff in preparing equipment for preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Standards, and related operational procedures.
  • Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, reach, twist, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Availability for weekends and overtime as needed.

Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from $18 to $21 per hour. This is a non-exempt role.
