POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety and Security Operations Expert will play a crucial role within the Gentex Security Operations Center, undertaking responsibilities as a Security Specialist when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement emergency management and life safety protocols that ensure compliance with organizational, insurance, and governmental standards.
  • Address suspicious activities, prepare incident documentation, collaborate with law enforcement and security teams, and conduct follow-ups on security-related events.
  • Examine security and safety incidents utilizing advanced technology, including video surveillance and access control systems.
  • Provide oversight to the security personnel during safety assessments or relevant occurrences using video monitoring tools.
  • Compile comprehensive shift activity reports and incident documentation.
  • Conduct audits on various security systems to ensure operational integrity.
  • Adhere strictly to security protocols and procedures with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Assist with various assigned tasks to support the Security team, Facilities team, and Gentex personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on current security and life safety challenges through research and participation in relevant workshops and conferences.
  • Exhibit strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Engage effectively with individuals across all levels of the organization.
  • Support the Security Manager and Security Specialist II as necessary.
  • Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and procedures while promoting a secure workplace.
  • Uphold a high standard of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality regarding company matters.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in active law enforcement or military service in a law enforcement capacity.
  • Proven ability to de-escalate confrontational or potentially dangerous situations.
  • Capability to assume the role of Incident Commander during emergencies.
  • Effective communication skills with local and state authorities.
