Facilities Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Director to join our team at Maine School Administrative District #6. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all daily activities related to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our school buildings, auxiliary buildings, utility systems, mechanical systems, school grounds, and other physical facilities.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management plan to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of all school facilities.
• Supervise and manage a team of maintenance staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of facilities services.
• Coordinate and manage all maintenance and repair work, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
• Develop and manage budgets for facilities maintenance and repair, ensuring that all expenditures are in line with district policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that facilities services are aligned with district goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to facilities management, including OSHA, ADA, and building codes.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the long-term sustainability of our facilities.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and the community, responding to facilities-related inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as facilities management, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities management, with a strong background in maintenance and repair.
• Proven track record of successfully managing facilities teams and budgets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service.
• Knowledge of facilities management software and systems, including CMMS and BIM.

The Facilities Director will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to school sites and other locations. The position requires the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and to lift up to 25 pounds. The Facilities Director will also be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
