Facilities Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Director to join our team at Maine School Administrative District #6. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all daily activities related to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our school buildings, auxiliary buildings, utility systems, mechanical systems, school grounds, and other physical facilities.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance and repair program to ensure the upkeep of all district facilities.
• Supervise and manage a team of maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
• Collaborate with the business manager to develop and manage the district's operating and capital budgets.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, local, state, and national building codes, air and water quality standards, and environmental laws.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, including repairs, renovations, and new construction projects.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and the community to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to ensure the district's facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as facilities management, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities management, construction management, or a related field.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and maintaining large-scale facilities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

The Facilities Director will work in a variety of settings, including school buildings, auxiliary buildings, and outdoor facilities. The position requires the ability to work in confined spaces, lift up to 25 pounds, and travel to multiple job locations as needed.

The Facilities Director will be required to work a standard 52-week work year, with occasional overtime as needed. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as determined by the MSAD 6 Board of Directors.
