Job Summary

South Coast Children's Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Parent Partner/Peer Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide support and resources to parents/caregivers, empowering them to promote a successful home placement for their children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with parents/caregivers to assess their needs and provide relevant interventions, resources, and support.
  • Advocate for parents during Children and Family Team meetings, ensuring their voice and choice are respected and implemented throughout the treatment process.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources to serve children and their families, working in coordination with the client's multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate and proficient documentation, adhering to program and contract standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; personal parenting experience with an emotionally/behaviorally-disturbed child preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid/ProACT certification within the first thirty days of employment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle without restrictions, often in heavy traffic and frequently long distances, to ensure safe transport to client settings and to safely transport clients to appointments as needed.
  • Senses of vision, hearing, and smell sufficient to regularly operate a motor vehicle, to visualize threats in the environment or risks to clients, and to operate safely in the field.
