Housekeeper/Set Ups Job Description

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Set Ups to join our team at the Wonderland Camp and Conference Center. As a Housekeeper/Set Ups, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain motel and deluxe housing, including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and vacuuming floors.
  • Disinfect and clean dorms and cabins, including bathrooms and showers, and fold blankets and pillows neatly.
  • Perform seasonal deep cleaning of windows, walls, floors, and other areas as needed.
  • Assist custodians during peak workloads with moving furniture, cleaning meeting areas, restrooms, and other tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include working with other camp departments.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum age of 19 years old.
  • Experience in industrial housekeeping is preferred.

  • Ability to accept authority and work a flexible schedule.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
  • An attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situations/priorities.
  • In agreement with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of The Salvation Army USA Central Territory.
  • Supportive of the mission of The Salvation Army.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • This position requires light to heavy physical work and the ability to lift or move up to 50lbs.
  • Requires ability to drive carts.
  • In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use housekeeping equipment.
  • The work environment for this position includes a camp and office environment with a low to high noise level, and also requires traveling outdoors in winter season to cabins and dorms.
