Job Summary

At Battlecreek Memory Care, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Housekeeping Professional to join our team. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and tidiness of the community, including common areas and resident apartments, in accordance with service plan agreements.
  • Vacuum and dust apartments, common areas, and office spaces.
  • Empty trash from apartments, common areas, bathrooms, and office areas.
  • Clean carpets in apartments, common office areas, and bathrooms.
  • Clean entryways, patios, courtyards, and ashtrays.
  • Clean sidewalk areas near entryways.
  • Clean courtyard furnishings.
  • Remove debris from the perimeter of the building.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable these senses to function adequately.
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, and others.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and move supplies, etc. more than 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day with sitting, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to relate to the elderly in a positive manner.
  • Must be familiar with cleaning supplies and/or chemicals and their uses.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be clean, tidy, and appropriately dressed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds independently and more with assistance.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, moving of equipment, climbing, bending, and stooping.
  • Requires visual acuity and the ability to interpret requests from residents and staff.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Salary and Benefits

$16.50 per hour
