Job Summary

The Food Services Specialist is a key member of the Dietary Department at Lifestream Behavioral Center. This role involves preparing, serving, and delivering food to clients, as well as maintaining kitchen sanitation and cleanliness.

Essential Functions
  • Compliance and Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: The ability to comply with regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
  • Housekeeping and Sanitation: Properly washes and sanitizes all dishes, utensils, pot/pans and cooking equipment, as well as putting them away in an orderly fashion.
  • Food Preparation and Delivery: Serves food to clients in the cafeteria, delivers meals to ACU clients and stocks snacks in unit galleys.
  • Waste Management: Properly disposes of garbage at end of working day.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Performs routine housekeeping duties as related to kitchen and eating areas.
  • Inventory Management: Put away deliveries of food and supplies received from suppliers.
  • Equipment Operation: Operates dishwashing equipment to insure proper cleaning of all dishes, utensils, pots/pans and glasses.
  • Floor Maintenance: Washes kitchen floor daily and any other area as designated by Food Services Manager.
  • Training and Development: Shall be instructed in proper food preparation, handling and storage techniques.
  • Attendance and Adherence: Attends scheduled in-services and adheres to all departmental and company procedures.
Education and Experience
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.
