School Age Childcare Assistant

The School Age After Care Assistant will provide support to the Site Director/After Care Supervisor in the implementation of the school age after care program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing students with the appropriate leadership during the program, maintaining safety and ensuring the welfare of all enrolled children, and engaging and supervising children in the school age after care program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide students with the appropriate leadership during the program.
- Maintain safety and ensure the welfare of all enrolled children, supervision of children during all activities.
- Engage and supervise of the children in the school age after care program.
- Day-to-day operation: including and maintaining a harmonious and efficient learning environment.
- Curriculum: implementation, and documentation of developmentally appropriate activities that includes, but in not limited to, crafts, games, self-directed play, physical activities, reading, quiet time, and/or offer an environment where homework is encouraged.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with classroom teachers, coworkers, families and other staff.
- Attends all staff meetings and other work related functions as required.
- Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment and ensure students conduct themselves appropriately.
- Follow and enforce all safety policies.
- Assist with students check in/out policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding all students.
- Willingness to complete 16 clock hours of annual professional development training and certification continuation in CPR/First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens.
Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Applicants must be personable, reliable and child-oriented.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Compliance to complete Central Registry Clearance.
Working Conditions:
The School Age After Care Assistant will work Monday thru Friday approximately 3:15p - 6:00p. The starting pay is $13.05 per hour, based on experience. The position reports to the Site Director.
