The Mobility Programs Fleet Operations team is dedicated to providing on-wing support and oversight for military aircraft fleets, including the C-17, KC-46, and C-390. As a key member of the Mobility Programs Logistics team, the KC-46A Tanker Field Service Specialist will deliver onsite technical guidance and support for the KC-46A aircraft and associated engines operated by the United States Air Force. This role requires close collaboration with Air Force and Boeing personnel to ensure timely assistance and resolution of technical issues related to engine and airframe interfaces that may arise during daily operations. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with the KC-46A/PW4000-94 program, Boeing representatives, and base personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess maintenance and troubleshooting protocols, advising technical personnel on the use of specialized tools, safety measures, installation techniques, and providing assistance to resolve maintenance challenges and enhance procedures. Collaborate with the USAF and Boeing to optimize engine operational time, minimizing costs while reducing unscheduled maintenance for maintenance teams; employ initiative and analytical skills to identify issues, conduct thorough investigations, and coordinate solutions among P&W Customer Support Engineering, Logistics Program Management, the Air Force, and Boeing. Contribute to onsite performance evaluations to detect performance variations and improve troubleshooting and maintenance practices; when possible, inspect engine components for unusual wear or distress patterns. Gather performance feedback from the Aircraft Maintenance Office, flight-line personnel, and pilots; provide on-the-job training for system troubleshooting and flight-line support. Flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate customer needs.Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, encompassing extensive technical knowledge of engine hardware and operations, along with experience working directly with military or airline clients, or prior USAF experience; or an advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
5+ years of experience in customer relationship development.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is mandatory. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with F117, PW4000-94, or large commercial engines. Prior experience as a military Field Service Representative. Familiarity with technical orders, maintenance manuals, and on-wing troubleshooting methodologies. Self-driven with the capability to work independently with minimal oversight. A strong desire for success and personal development opportunities. Onsite: Employees in onsite roles will primarily work at the location, as their presence is essential for engine development.The salary range for this position is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. This range is a good faith estimate representative of various experience levels. Raytheon Technologies considers multiple factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, responsibilities, candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. This role is based in the U.S. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
