Job Overview

BAE Systems is at the forefront of designing, manufacturing, and integrating advanced radar and electro-optical systems for a variety of applications, including domestic test ranges and aviation facilities worldwide.

Position Summary:

The role involves serving as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for hardware architecture utilized in test instrumentation systems, encompassing radar, telemetry, electro-optical, and flight termination systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring complex designs meet specifications and customer requirements through rigorous verification processes.
  2. Developing hardware and software requirements, along with cost estimates and proposals.
  3. Evaluating existing operational systems and recommending design enhancements to improve functionality and performance.
  4. Driving business growth through effective technical execution, innovation, and engagement with customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and review technical documentation, including proposals, reports, and whitepapers.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert on magnetron tube-based transmitters and modulators.
  3. Conduct radar system analyses, focusing on system sensitivity, angle accuracy, range accuracy, and more.
  4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve technical challenges.
  5. Develop technical briefs and presentations for leadership and test range clients.
  6. Provide technical guidance to senior management, program managers, and engineering teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Active Secret clearance is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • In-depth understanding of radar systems architecture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of magnetron tube-based transmitters and modulators.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ground radar system operation, design, and development.
  • Familiarity with range instrumentation radar or similar systems.
  • Involvement in research and development projects.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and/or international test range operations.

Compensation:

Salary range: $115,110 - $195,660, based on market pay structures and individual qualifications.
