POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hardware Engineering Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting engineers through planning, scheduling, and providing essential assistance with documentation, testing, and general engineering activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct detailed tasks in RF, analog, and digital electronics under the guidance of engineers.
  • Proactively resolve existing issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze engineering data to achieve established objectives.
  • Research and evaluate electronic components for new designs and replacements.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions accurately.
  • Implement and validate engineering modifications.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for ongoing projects.
  • Travel to laboratories for testing and to customer locations for installations and evaluations as necessary.
  • Maintain a consistent presence at the worksite during assigned hours, with minimal absenteeism.

  • Other tasks may be assigned as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with government standards.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to engage appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Commitment to adhering to workplace regulations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and instructions.
  • Leadership capabilities to fulfill program requirements.
  • Familiarity with advanced testing equipment operations and safety protocols.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree, technical certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Previous experience with RF or radar systems is preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical devices and tools is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a passport for potential overseas assignments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work environments may include production areas, office settings, and outdoor locations.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing repetitive motions and lifting up to 30 pounds.
