Position Summary: Supports Chefs in the preparation of meals for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with daily production requirements.
Supervision: Reports to the Director of Dining Services, Assistant Director of Dining Services, Managers, Executive Chef, and Sous Chef.
Position Title: Culinary Assistant
Work Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours per week, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM on weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a high level of cleanliness in food handling and work areas as per the Dining Service sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in meal preparation based on daily production requirements.
- Relieve Chefs as needed.
- Adhere to standardized recipes to ensure consistency and quality of food products.
- Assist on the tray line during meal service when required.
- Notify the Dining Services Supervisor or Chef of any damaged equipment or substandard food items.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the Food Service industry or a combination of experience and 1 year of culinary training.
Licensure: Not applicable.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; strong communication skills; proficiency in using various culinary equipment relevant to the role.
