Job Description

At Johnston & Murphy, we're looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager. As a key member of our retail team, you'll play a vital role in driving sales, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining a positive store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales and Revenue Growth: Meet and exceed sales plans, both store and personal, to contribute to the company's overall revenue growth.
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, embodying the company's values and standards, and inspiring your team to do the same.
  • Manage Store Operations: Assist in protecting company assets, including accurate inventory and cash management, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Develop and Coach Team Members: Assist in the implementation, utilization, and certification of all training programs, and provide coaching and counseling to team members to achieve company standards.
  • Partner with HR: Collaborate with the HR department to move issues to closure and ensure a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Prior Management Experience: Previous management experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role.
  • Physical Demands: This position requires constant moving, talking, listening, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing for long periods of time, walking, using hands to operate controls, and climbing ladders in a safe manner.
