We are looking for a dedicated and skilled AI Quality Assurance Specialist to support our government client in Washington, D.C. This role currently offers a hybrid work arrangement that may adapt based on client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expertise in Testing and Evaluation (T&E) across various Science and Technology initiatives, focusing on test strategy, execution, data management, and reporting, particularly for AI/ML systems.
- Oversee T&E processes for multiple government projects, bringing knowledge and experience in evaluation methodologies specific to AI/ML technologies.
- Assess effectiveness and suitability of AI solutions in constrained operational environments.
- Conduct Technical Analysis for T&E as part of a collaborative program team, providing technical guidance and oversight to the government’s evaluation division.
- Measure the performance of AI solutions using relevant metrics and validation methods, ensuring thorough testing to identify and resolve issues related to accuracy and robustness.
- Contribute to algorithm development by designing and refining machine learning models and statistical methods to address complex challenges, including data preprocessing and model evaluation.
- Review AI algorithms and models using programming languages such as Python, R, or TensorFlow to ensure implementation maturity.
- Analyze large datasets to extract valuable insights and identify risks through data analysis and visualization.
- Support the deployment and integration of trained models into production environments, ensuring they meet scalability and performance standards.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the complete System Engineering Life Cycle.
- Create training materials and guides for AI T&E processes.
- Facilitate seminars on AI T&E methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with experience in AI and/or machine learning and T&E processes.
- Extensive knowledge of machine learning algorithms and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Proficiency in data manipulation and visualization tools (e.g., NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib).
- Familiarity with software development practices, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.
- Experience in specialized AI fields such as natural language processing, computer vision, or reinforcement learning.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and distributed computing principles.
- Willingness to obtain DHS T&E Certification Level III equivalency.
- Ability to respond promptly to requirements in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of DHS Acquisition Directives and T&E policies and procedures.
- Capability to evaluate T&E documents, including T&E Master Plans and Operational Test Plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Department of Homeland Security's mission and objectives.
Education Requirements:
- A Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8 years, or an Associate's degree with 10 years, or a High School diploma/GED with 14 years of relevant experience.
Clearance Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required, along with a current DHS Suitability Investigation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary for approximately 60% of the time.
- Regularly operates a computer and other office equipment.
- Occasional movement within the office to access various resources.
The anticipated compensation range for this position is $121,800-$204,100, influenced by factors such as relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and education.
