Senior Anesthesiology Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled General Anesthesiologist to join our team at VCU Health in Richmond, VA. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional anesthetic care to our patients, advancing the knowledge of the specialty, and educating the next generation of clinicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care to patients at VCUHS as assigned by the Department Chair or Chairs delegate.
- Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Chair or Chairs delegate.
- Provide bedside clinical teaching of residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and others.
- Participate in the didactic teaching programs of the Department at this Institution and attend conferences, rounds, and staff meetings as required by the Chair.
Requirements:
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification.
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
- Eligible for employment in the United States.
- Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
