Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to join our team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. The successful candidate will provide assistance to patients, technologists, physicians, and other hospital personnel as assigned or needed in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, their significant others, and hospital personnel.
  • Explain procedures to patients, addressing their questions and concerns to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
  • Work under general supervision to provide assistance as needed, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Radiology Support Supervisor and Lead technologists to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • A High School diploma or GED and strong computer proficiency are required.
  • Previous Windows experience is necessary, with experience in healthcare information systems, including PACS, being a plus.
  • One to two years of experience in a healthcare setting, especially in direct patient care roles, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, along with keyboarding skills of 35-40 wpm, are preferred.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and CPR certification within 30 days of hire date are required.
