About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Imaging Vascular Specialist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Tinley Park, Illinois. As a Diagnostic Imaging Vascular Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive array of sophisticated abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures. You will demonstrate technical expertise, providing accurate and thorough images for diagnostic assessment. Your strong communication skills will enable you to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ultrasound and Vascular Procedures: You will perform a wide range of ultrasound and vascular procedures, including abdominal, OB/GYN, and small parts studies. Your technical expertise will ensure accurate and timely results, supporting informed decision-making by healthcare providers.
  • Patient Care: You will provide exceptional patient care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all patients. Your strong communication skills will enable you to explain procedures, answer questions, and address concerns.
  • Documentation and Reporting: You will maintain accurate and detailed records of patient procedures, including images, results, and any notable findings. Your documentation will support quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: You will work collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care. Your strong communication skills will facilitate effective communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: You will have an Associate's degree in Allied Health or a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Science. Typically, you will have 1 year of experience in abdominal and OB/GYN procedures and 1 year of experience in vascular exams.
  • Certifications and Registrations: You will be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen or OB/GYN and RVT. You will also be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
  • Skills and Abilities: You will possess proficient skills in abdomen, OB, pelvic, endovaginal, small parts, venous doppler, carotid doppler, and arterial studies. You will also have moderate skills in assisting radiologists with procedures.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Requirements: You will be able to move ultrasound equipment for portable studies to various nursing units. You will also be able to perform lifting and transferring related to patient care.
  • Work Environment: You will work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints. You may be exposed to ill patients and may be exposed to blood and urine samples.

Estimated Salary:

$75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
