Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. This role is responsible for performing technical procedures that may require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. The Specialist performs patient intake by collecting medical history and must be able to answer patient questions regarding the imaging procedure. They follow specific instructions from providers on what areas to image and guide patients through the imaging process safely and comfortably. They operate imaging equipment proficiently, have a firm understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, demonstrate knowledge of proper imaging techniques in all patient populations and may confer with Providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine whether additional images are required.
Requirements
- Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree
Licensure/Certification
- Radiology License Radiology Registration IEMA License in Radiography
- Radiology Registration from ARRT or Registry Eligible (Must obtain within 6 months of hire if not already registered
- American Heart Association (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with routine diagnostic procedures in General Radiology
- Previous experience in customer service/patient experience setting
