Position Overview:
As a Lead Airport Planner, you will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive airport planning activities, focusing on the research, design, and execution of aviation-related programs, projects, and studies.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop conceptual designs and planning studies for both short-term and long-term airport development initiatives.
2. Present and articulate proposed strategies and outcomes to clients effectively.
3. Assist clients in defining formal requirements for their projects.
4. Organize Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and facilitate the selection of preferred subconsultants, while managing contracts and identifying their needs.
5. Conduct scoping and studies related to airfield layouts, apron configurations, passenger terminal planning, and surface access planning.
6. Perform data analysis, demand assessments, and capacity evaluations to support airport planning studies.
7. Lead design meetings, site visits, and all project-related discussions.
8. Coordinate with various stakeholders and business unit experts as necessary.
9. Execute financial analyses, including assessments and modeling of capital expenditures (CAPEX), operational expenditures (OPEX), and revenue streams.
10. Stay informed about the latest industry trends and ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
11. Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members.


Qualifications:
- Architect or Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Airport Planning and Design.
- Proven track record in Master Plan studies for airports of varying sizes.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA and ICAO/IATA regulations and requirements.
- Understanding of the critical factors influencing Airport Planning and Development, including the interplay between aviation operations, passenger and baggage movement, design concepts, retail, advertising, and surface access.


Skills and Experience:
- High accountability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering quality work on time and within budget.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with a diverse range of project stakeholders, contractors, and clients.
- Willingness to travel for short-term assignments as required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences fluently in English.


Preferred Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in geometric design using AutoCAD.
- Strong numerical skills, including experience with complex spreadsheets and databases.
- Familiarity with Airport Modelling and Mapping tools (e.g., REVIT, GIS).
- Experience in airfield and/or terminal operations.
- Knowledge of environmental impacts related to aviation, including noise, air quality, and carbon assessments.
