Project Controls Specialist

{"h1": "Project Controls Engineer", "p": "At B.L. Harbert International, LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for refining project execution schedules, monitoring critical path activities, and collaborating with project managers, superintendents, and material suppliers.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare project schedule updates and reports required by contracts
* Prepare short-term look-ahead schedules for use by BLHI field forces and subcontractors
* Record and report actual performance progress and forecast completion of work based on performance to date
* Prepare evaluations of potential time impacts from change issues or unanticipated conditions in the field
* Prepare and maintain BLHI's procurement logs to assist in planning and execution of material procurement
* Assist the project manager and project engineer to analyze cost and potential time issues associated with RFP's
Requirements:
* US citizen
* Ability to periodically travel abroad to project sites
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the US Government
* Undergraduate Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field
* 5+ years' experience and training in scheduling and planning construction projects
Preferences:
* Experience in scheduling and planning construction projects using Primavera P6
* Experience in Department of Defense or Department of State projects
* Experience in USACE or OBO projects overseas
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while working in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work collaborate and work well on a team
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work with people from various backgrounds
* Strong time management, follow-through and organizational skills
Physical Demands:
* To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:
* Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
* Have the ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, bend, balance and twist for extended periods
* Have the ability to frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 25 pounds of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.
* Possess the manual dexterity to utilize and operate construction tools and/or construction equipment and machinery
* Possess a high degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environment
Work Environment:
* To perform the duties of this job, the employee
* Must be able to work in an office environment and periodically on construction sites overseas
* May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
* Will have occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites including frequent loud noises
* Must be flexible with hours in order to accommodate business needs
